Between The Pages - A Cowboy to Come Home To
A Cowboy To Come Home To
By Donna Alward
July 2013
Friendship?
Melissa Stone has done a fine job of avoiding her former best friend Cooper Ford. She was devastated when she discovered her husband was cheating on her, and felt doubly betrayed that Cooper had known all along.…
Forgiveness…
But she can't ignore him forever—especially now that they're working together on a charity project! And as she and Cooper get closer again, she confides in him her plans to start a family—alone.
Fatherhood!
Cooper wants to be there for her this time—but would he really consider being the father of her baby…?
Between The Pages
The author had me captivated at ‘Cowboy’ and Cooper is a reader’s perfect hero. A story about friendship gone bad, to reconnecting, and falling in love. This story flows effortlessly. The setting and characters are captivating. This story is part of the Cadence Creek Cowboys Series. I’ve read two books in the series and plan to pick up the ones I missed.

Between The Pages - Off The Clock
Off The Clock

October 2011
The last thing she needs is a hero…
Paramedic Gabe Brennan's job is saving lives. When he witnesses an accident and rushes in to help, the victim brings back memories of the night that marked him forever. The night he almost couldn't save his best friend, Brandon. Brandon's sister is in the car. She's pregnant. And his longing for her is just as sharp as ever.
Carly's never been so glad to see a friendly face. Gabe's gallant rescue-and the gentle kiss he bestows upon her at the hospital-resurrect feelings she buried long ago. Having just closed the book on a crumbling marriage, she's not too keen on opening herself up to hurt again. Not even for the one man who's always seemed to be there when she needed him most.
Gabe knows he shouldn't be falling for Carly, especially since she insists she's off the market. But the chemistry still simmering between them after all these years is no accident. Now all he has to do is convince her she belongs in the empty space he's always held open for her. The one next to his heart...
Product Warnings. Caution: Contents-and paramedic hero-may be too hot to handle!
Between The Pages of this story is a romantic story with plenty of emotion. The story line draws you in from the first page and captivates you to the end. The hero Gabe is perfect, and his push and pull relationship with Carly will have you rooting for their romance. Off The Clock: First Responders is book 1 of the series. I look forward to reading book 2.

Between The Pages - Sold To The Highest Bidder
Sold To The Highest Bidder
By Donna Alward
Samhain Publishing
February 2011
All she wants is his name on the dotted line. He’s got other ideas…
For Ella, marrying Devin had seemed like a good idea at the time. Friends since childhood and in love with him for as long as she could remember, marriage had been the next logical step. Then the real world called, and Ella’s feet had itched to get out of Backwards Gulch, Colorado. Now, with a new opportunity on the East Coast beckoning, it’s time to put her past behind her once and for all. When she sees Devin standing on a charity auction block, she decides it’s the perfect opportunity to finally get his signature on the divorce papers he never signed
Devin’s certain about one thing when he sees Ella for the first time in twelve years—she’s not the girl he married. The way she left him still stings, and if she wants him to sign on the dotted line he’s going to make her work for it…for the full forty-eight hours she paid for. When the old attraction flares between them, the years apart disappear and resolve melts faster than high-country snow in summer. But when Ella awakens with the same determination to get back to Denver, divorce papers in hand, she has a problem…
Devin still hasn’t signed them.
Warning: Bourbon shooters, shirtless cowboys, and a hot rendezvous or two.
Review: A steamier novel from Donna Alward, this story starts out flirty and fun. Ella is determined to have her shirtless cowboy sign their divorce papers, and comes off a bit too strong at first, but there’s no mistaking the attraction she feels for her husband. Devin is a wonderful hero and has a past that will break your heart. Their chemistry drives the story and has you rooting for a reunion.
Between The Pages of this story you’ll find passionate love scenes and a plot that turns the pages.

Between The Pages - Proud Rancher, Precious Bundle
Proud Rancher, Precious BundleBy: Donna Alward
Harlequin Romance
February 2011
Back Cover: After a hard day's ranching, Wyatt Black wants to kick back with a cold beer. But when he steps onto his porch, he has unexpected company—his tiny abandoned niece! Against her better judgment, Wyatt's neighbor Elli Marchuk agrees to help him for a few days. Elli soon falls in love with baby Darcy, but it's the child's grouchy, gorgeous protector who's got her head over heels...
This emotional story is about two people trying to heal from issues in their pasts, who are brought together by a baby. The baby plays a huge role in this story, and while some may not prefer this, I found the baby a touching part of the scenes. Donna’s wonderful descriptive voice had me ‘seeing’ the baby abandoned on the porch and in Wyatt’s strong arms.
Between The Pages of this book is a traditional love story…a warm and tender romance.

Between The Pages - Montana Mistletoe Marriage
Montana Mistletoe MarriageBy: Patricia Thayer & Donna Alward
Harlequin November 2009
Snowbound Cowboy by Patricia ThayerLone wolf Boone Gifford has spent years standing on the outside. Now he's looking at Christmas-through the window of beautiful Amelia's home. The snow falls hard-the stranded family needs help. It's time for the cowboy to step inside.
A Bride for Rocking H Ranch by Donna AlwardKelley is rancher, housekeeper, doting sister to Amelia, granddaughter and aunt-and the stress of preparing the perfect Christmas at Rocking H ranch is getting to her. But distraction soon arrives in the form of delectable chef Mack Dennison.
Review: I enjoyed both stories about sisters, Amelia and Kelley. Amelia's little boy is a highlight of story #1, hoping Santa will bring him a dad for Christmas. And in story #2 there's more than just cooking heating up this snowy Christmas romance.
Between The Pages of this book, you'll find two romantic Christmas stories perfect for reading on a snowy winter night. It's packed with emotion, tender romances, alpha heroes, believable heroines, and touching story lines.
