Between The Pages - An Alaskan Proposal

An Alaskan Proposal
Beth Carpenter
January 2019

Can he teach her survival skills—

without endangering his heart?

When Sabrina Bell taps Leith Jordan for a crash course in conquering the great Alaskan outdoors, he figures he’s on safe ground. They’re polar opposites and his spectacular home state’s just a pit stop for the hotshot fashionista. So no one’s more surprised than Leith when he starts falling for her. Now he’s a man with a plan: get Sabrina to fall in love with Alaska…and, hopefully, with him.

Between The Pages
This was such an enjoyable story. I was hooked at chapter one. Sabrina and Leith are the cutest couple and their budding romance was fun to read. The plot is not only engaging; it’s a learning tool in camping, fishing, and wildlife. As with the previous books in this series, the author places the reader in a breathtaking setting. This story will make you smile and laugh. As a dog person, the two adorable dogs were an additional bonus to the story line. Camping, fishing, and attending a wedding with the characters from the first three books made this book a page-turner. I am looking forward to the next adventure in this must read series.

Between The Pages
This book grabs you with its beautiful cover and the steamy romance has the pages turning with ease. Diana and Dillon have instant chemistry and a growing bond leading to forever, once they get past the hurdles standing in the way. Between The Pages - Home For Christmas

Home for Christmas
Catherine Lanigan
November 2019

Can a magical Christmas under glass…

…bring them back together for good?

Widowed dad Adam Masterson still doesn’t understand why Joy Boston left Indian Lake and broke his heart all those years ago. Now she’s returned to sell her grandfather’s beloved poinsettia greenhouse—and Joy and Adam’s connection is as strong as ever. But Joy has a life in New York. And Adam has only until Christmas to convince Joy that she belongs in Indian Lake—with him.

Between The Pages
Book twelve of the Shores of Indian Lake is a perfect holiday read. If you are a fan of this series or a new-comer, you’ll love stepping into this quaint little town and you won’t want to leave. Joy returns after the passing of her grandfather and she is set on selling his greenhouse and returning to New York. But after rekindling her friendship with Adam, and the rest of her childhood friends, she is wrapped up in the warmth of being home. There are so many wonderful scenes in this story. Adam’s son, Titus, is adorable and steals every scene. The coming and going of characters in past books as they help Joy reopen the greenhouse. Ms. Beabots and the mystery that surrounds her past, which we get small hints about in each book. The well-developed characters are what make this series a hit. Their interaction and connection is like one big family. The fun is finding out what everyone has been up to because their story never ends as they continue to grow in future books. The details behind the death of Joy’s parents and a hybrid poinsettia create added interest to this storyline. Adam and Joy made a wonderful addition to the series with a heartwarming and touching tale of a second chance at love. This book is a Christmas must-read.

Trapper’s Moon
Gini Rifkin
December 6, 2019

As a free trapper, mountain man Kade McCauley is wary of the Hudson Bay Company. Their form of vengeance against those who are not part of the company can be deadly. When he and his partner are attacked, he fights back, only to discover one of his shots struck an innocent. A woman who touches his soul, and he will do anything to keep her safe.

While searching for her Native American tribe, Blind Deer crosses paths with Kade—with near fatal results. Once she is patched up, she decides it is safer to travel with him than alone Their uneasy alliance turns to genuine caring, but Blind Deer's past gets in the way, and she must choose between love or old obligations.

But nothing in life is carved in stone except the mountains, and those formidable peaks have been known to change the course of a man's life or a woman's.

Between The Pages
First, I want to say how beautiful this cover is. Blue is my favourite colour, so this book won me over right away. If I saw this book on a store shelf, I would pick it up to learn more about the story. And the story is truly an enjoyable read. Kade and Blind Deer are the perfect match. Their chemistry is sweet and emotional. Blind Deer’s background is filled with sadness that will pull at your heartstrings. You’ll want her to find her happy-ever-after and Kade fits the role as the endearing rugged hero. The secondary cast is outstanding with Tucket, Maggie, Nikota, and the mischievous Kinnapa and Kintama. Blind Deer’s bother, Nikota could definitely lead a story of his own. The historical aspect is very interesting. The added romance, bits of humour, drama, and tension makes this story a page-turning hit.

Between The Pages - Twins Under the Tree

Twins Under the Tree
Leigh Riker
October 2019

He never stayed put…

until she gave him a reason to

Rebel cowboy Hadley Smith had never been one to stick around. Then he suddenly became a single father—to twins. Hadley doesn’t need Jenna Moran looking over his shoulder, but he grudgingly starts to fall for her compassion and strength. When faced with an impossible choice, can Hadley prove to Jenna he’s willing to put down roots?

Between The Pages
This series is ramping up on the list of my favourites. Book six is another hit. We meet Hadley in The Rancher’s Second Chance (book five) as a secondary character. At first he’s not very likable, but the guy soon grows on you and we learn his wife is expecting twins. The start of this book draws you in immediately with the death of Hadley’s wife. He’s now a single dad, but receives help from Clara one of his past foster parents and Jenna. This story has an emotional punch with Hadley’s troubled past as well as Jenna’s, and both lead characters have trust issues. Watching Hadley connect with his twins is truly endearing and some of my favourite scenes in the story. He quickly becomes a bad boy hero and you’ll root for his happy ending. The plot has several interesting twists with Clara’s relationship with Hadley and him running her farm, as well as Cody aka Cory, Hadley’s brother, Dallas, and Hadley’s wife’s parents. This is a sweet and enjoyable holiday read.

Between The Pages - The Rancher’s Second Chance

The Rancher’s Second Chance
Leigh Riker
May 2019

He wants his ranch back…

She won’t give it up

Cooper Ransom comes home for one reason: to reclaim his land. Nell Sutherland’s family owns the ranch now, and she’s determined to prove she can run it. So she surprises Cooper when she makes him foreman. Cooper reconnects with the land and Nell, but can he have both? Or will the cowboy have to choose between the ranch he loves…and the woman he loves?

Between The Pages
This book was such an enjoyable read. The story draws you in with a strong heroine and a handsome cowboy. Nell is determined to prove to her grandfather, and everyone else, that she is the one to take over the family ranch, and Cooper wants to buy back his family’s land. The plot is a great blend of romance, family drama, and action. There’s always something happening within every chapter. You’ll want to know what will happen when PawPaw returns, what’s the real story behind Jesse, will they find the coyotes before they take down another cow, and when will Cooper and Nell put each other first. The twists and turns in this book are fun and keeps the pages turning. Including characters from past books was also a bonus. This is book five in the Kansas Cowboys series and I am currently reading book six, Twins Under the Tree, which stars Hadley, who played a role in The Rancher’s Second Chance as a guy you won’t like at first, but then you’ll grow a soft spot for him as his wife tells a story with her own POV in this story.

Between The Pages - The Firefighter's Thanksgiving Wish

The Firefighter's Thanksgiving Wish
Anna J. Stewart
November 2019

They both know it’s true

Where there’s smoke, there’s fire!

Working with the new fire chief, Roman Salazar, is a challenge for Frankie Bettencourt. Everyone in Butterfly Harbor agrees she was the one destined for the top job at the station house! So, should she quit? No way! But she will steer clear of Roman from now on…or at least until his kindness, quick smile and can-do attitude win the town—and possibly Frankie—over for good!

Between The Pages
Another hit in Butterfly Harbor! This is book seven in this series and the author keeps delivering dang awesome stories. There is so much to like about this book. Frankie and Roman are perfect lead characters. Their chemistry sizzles instantly. Their banter back and forth is amusing. Then there’s the growing cast. I am a fan of all past characters and it is nice that the author continues to include them as it’s fun to read more about them as the series continues. Then the author introduces new characters who become fast favourites such as the Cocoon Club and Roman’s mother. This story was so enjoyable to read from the coded calls to actual emergencies. I loved the added humour and the last chapter brought some tears. My only question is...how long do I have to wait for the next book? :)

Between The Pages - Her Kind of Hero

Her Kind of Hero
Janice Carter
July 2019

He saved her life…

But he’s not the hero she expects.

Dana Sothern has finally found the man who rescued her as a teen. But when she tries to thank Matt Rodriguez, instead he challenges her to volunteer at his youth camp. The experience brings Matt and Dana closer. But away from the camp, the reformed bad boy’s and the corporate lawyer’s worlds are far apart. Can they bridge the gap between them?

Between The Pages
This story is packed with emotion. The instant you learn about Dana’s past connection to Matt has you hooked. Their chemistry is undeniable. Matt is a strong hero. He’s making a difference in kids’ lives that need a caring and guiding hand, and his relationship with his mother and sister is touching. Dana has grown into an independent woman, but seeing her unease and growth at the camp, makes her character fun to get to know. The cast is enjoyable from Matt’s family to his coworkers at the camp. This is a feel-good story with secrets, family drama, romance, and plenty of heart warming moments. A page-turner right to the very end!

Between The Pages - Safe in His Arms

Safe in His Arms
Anna J. Stewart
September 2019

She’s pushed everyone away…

…but is he her forever?

Ex-soldier Kendall craves solitude after a heartbreaking accident, and she finds it in the small town of Butterfly Harbor. That’s until handsome writer Hunter MacBride moves into town with his orphaned niece, Phoebe. Their arrival triggers painful memories for Kendall of the family and life she lost—but Hunter also shows her the promise of a life she could still have, if she’s prepared to take the risk…

Between The Pages
I am hooked on Butterfly Harbor and this book (number six in the series) takes you to a whole new level of reading enjoyment. After reading book five, where we get a peek at Kendall’s character, I wanted her to have her own story. Kendall is likable from the first page you meet her. Her tough exterior competing with the wounded woman inside. Then she meets Hunter and his niece. He’s the perfect hero and Phoebe instantly pulls at your heart. This story has everything….romance, emotion, a picturesque setting, and the best cast of characters. It will make you smile and shed a tear. I didn’t want this story to end. I wanted to slow the read to make it last longer, but I couldn’t stop reading. If I could nominate a book to be developed into a Hallmark movie, Safe in His Arms would be my top choice. The story line is exceptional and visual. A must read!

J.S. Marlo
September 2019

Fascinated by the Legend of the Cornwallis Ghost, Becca sneaks into a military base to see the ghost’s tombstone.

When she finds and follows a secret tunnel to the Officers’ Mess, Becca meets a living and breathing Eve, the betrayed young woman who hanged herself and haunts Cornwallis.

Trapped in the past with Eve in the days leading up to her tragic death, Becca becomes Rebecca, a woman devastated by a shattering loss and failing marriage.

Can Becca unravel the past to give Rebecca and Eve a second chance, and escape with her heart and future intact?

Between The Pages
With the setting taking place in my area, I was excited to read this book and I was not disappointed. This romantic, time travel story was so engaging. The author grabbed my attention immediately with a good plot of mystery and suspense. There are so many levels of this story that kept me turning the pages. The historical theme was interesting and the cast of characters were all enjoyable. A well developed plot and the author’s voice makes this story a hit. The time travel aspect was well done from the slip into the past and the return trip to the present. I really enjoyed the twist of how the two main characters were reunited and how the author gave the reader an inside look with a summary of events near the end…and Becca’s surprising family connection. I anxiously await the next book in Unraveling the Past.

Between The Pages - Sinners' Opera

Sinners’ Opera
Linda Nightingale
October 2019

Morgan D'Arcy is an English lord, a classical pianist, and a vampire. He has everything except what he desires most—Isabeau. As the Angel Gabriel he's steered her life and career choice, preparing her to become Lady D'Arcy.

Many forces oppose Morgan's daring plan—not the least of which is Vampyre law.

Isabeau Gervase is a brilliant geneticist. Though she no longer believes in angels, she sees a ticket to a Nobel Prize in Gabriel's secrets—secrets that have led her to a startling conclusion. Gabriel isn't human, and she fully intends to identify the species she named the Angel Genome. Morgan is ready to come back into Isabeau's life, but this time as a man not an angel. Will he outsmart his enemies, protect his beloved and escape death himself? For the first time in eternity, the clock is ticking.

Between The Pages
This paranormal romance is filled with drama, action, and plenty of blood. I haven’t read a vampire book in a while, but the main character, Morgan, with his charm and elegance, made the transition an enjoyable one. This book is long, so don’t expect to read it in one sitting. However, there is something always going on as you turn to the next page. The author places you in the dark scenes filled with intensity. Added twists will have you anticipating what will happen next. The cast of characters are interesting and one of my favourite characters was Isabeau’s friend, Kirsty. When she barrelled into a room with a gun in hand, I was smiling. I hope she gets a story of her own because she would make a good lead heroine. The plot was well done and the dialogue was a good mixture of emotion and wit. The ending was surprising. Not the happy-ever-after I expected. Not even a happy-for-now. The ending leaves you asking questions like...What will happen to Isabeau? What will happen to the baby? What is Morgan’s next step? The epilogue, told in Morgan’s voice, was fun and hinted to a sequel, which I would look forward to reading.

Between The Pages - The Healing Summer

The Healing Summer
Liz Flaherty
October 2019

When Steven Elliott accidentally rides his bike into Carol Whitney's car at the cemetery, the summer takes on new and exciting possibilities. Long friendship wends its way into something deeper when their hearts get involved. Feelings neither of them had expected to experience again enrich their days and nights. But what happens when the long summer ends? When Carol wants a family and commitment and a future, Steven isn't so sure. He's had his heart broken before-can he risk it again?

Between The Pages
An emotional story of broken hearts and broken dreams, yet there is a strong bond of love and friendship that emerges from the pages. I thoroughly enjoyed this book! From the moment Carol hits Steven’s bike with her car the anticipation begins. Carol isn’t the model heroine we picture in most romances with the perfect figure, but she’s equally attractive. Her strength and personality makes her character shine. Steven is still suffering from the loss of his wife and Carol bears the loss of her baby. Their friendship is endearing as is the camaraderie between all the characters in this story. One of my favourite parts of this book is the author’s talented skill of adding wit within the pages. There are so many humorous scenes that had me laughing out loud, especially between Carol’s mother and her aunt. The fun continues with Carol and Steven as well as Steven’s sister and her husband. The complete cast of characters were a perfect blend. There are so many scenes I want to talk about...like Carol carrying a baby and her relationship with Reese, but I won’t want to spoil the story, which is an emotional ride as you root for Carol and Steven to find their happy-ever-after. This book is a feel good, must read.

Between The Pages - Hers To Protect

Hers to Protect
Catherine Lanigan
May 2019

She’s sworn to protect…

But does that include a speeding celebrity?

Violet Hawks is a by-the-books police officer—so when she catches a man speeding, she arrests him. Only, the man is famous race car driver Josh Stevens. To make amends, Josh launches a charm campaign, and it works on the small town…and on Violet. But when Josh is connected to an investigation, Violet begins to wonder—can she trust her instincts when her heart is involved?

Between The Pages
The author has done another outstanding job with Shores of Indian Lake book eleven, which captured my attention from the beginning pages. I thoroughly enjoyed Violet and Josh’s story. Their animosity to friendship to falling in love was endearing. You can feel their instant connection. The dialogue was filled with emotion and wit. I love a story with a good slice of humour and this book not only had the fun, but suspense and action added to the entertaining plot. The visual is what makes this book so captivating. I saw each and every scene. I felt like I was part of the story – between the pages – and witnessed the reaction on the characters faces to the setting the author wonderfully described. This story places you in the Shores of Indian Lake. And not only did I get to watch two new characters fall in love, I got to revisit some of my favourites characters from past books. After eleven books one would think the series would fizzle, but not a chance. The author keeps giving her readers more. This series does not disappoint. Every book stands well on its own, but I encourage readers to dive into some of the earlier books, which are guaranteed to hook you onto the next and the next. As for me, Home for Christmas - book twelve, has already been downloaded to my tablet.

Between The Pages - A Bean, a Pea, and a Mammoth Tusk

A Bean, a Pea, and a Mammoth Tusk
Eve Dew Crook
July 2019

They would never have met without the mammoth tusk.

Middle school principal Stephen Lathrop loves winning marathons. Rookie deputy Megan Snow delights in her Criminal Justice certificate. But when the 12,000-year-old tusk is found buried in Vermont, everything changes. Reporters and TV crews take over the town.

To celebrate, the Deerbourne Inn plans a Twelfth Night feast and festival. Included in the events are slicing the fabulous King cake and crowning the King and Queen of Mischief. Though mischief does follow, romance, too, is in the air.

Rookie Megan is added to the sheriff’s crew. Principal Stephen gets involved at the Inn. Notorious TV chef Pierre Chasse arrives with Celine, his “hostess.” She and Megan form an unusual friendship. Then, mysterious strangers appear. A child goes missing. Teens try to steal the tusk. Clamor and mischief ensue.

Is this the time to plan a wedding?

Between The Pages
A sweet novella with an interesting plot and characters. I would have liked Stephen and Megan to connect earlier in the story and for their romance to develop within the pages of the story other than at the end with a wedding announcement, but their relationship is fun to watch as it grows into more than friendship. There is another side romance unfolding with Pierre and Celine, and the bond between Megan and Celine is endearing. The two women’s notes near the end give a nice wrap up of both couples, and the newspaper wedding piece was a nice bonus as well as two recipes. The cover is beautiful with the snowy setting and mammoth. This is the first book I’ve read in the Deerbourne Inn series (all written by a variety of authors) and it was nice to get a peek into the town of Willow Springs.

Between The Pages - Rescued by the Perfect Cowboy

Rescued by the Perfect Cowboy
Melinda Curtis
October 2019

She came to Second Chance

…he took a chance on love

Art curator Sophie Monroe is overwhelmed with starting a new business and raising four-year-old twins. Needing help, the divorced mom hires cowboy Zeke Roosevelt as her interim nanny! French lessons and bookish pursuits give way to riding and roping. And scholarly Sophie falls hard for the strong, practical cowboy. Until Zeke reveals a secret that may prevent this temporary posse from becoming a permanent family.

Between The Pages
I am hooked on this series! Each book in the The Mountain Monroe series introduces a new grandchild of Harlan Monroe and follows their path in the small town of Second Change where they discover their individualism and love. We got a peek at Sophie and Zeke in the previous book, Snowed in With the Single Dad, in which the author supplied a subtle hint of Zeke’s growing attraction to Sophie. Zeke is the sweetest hero and watching him undertake the role as nanny for Sophie’s twin boys is touching and filled with fun and humour. This story is captivating and reveals a couple of Harlan’s secrets with teasers of more to come. Packed with emotion from Sophie’s wavering decision to leave or stay, to Zeke’s private struggle. This book is another winning read, and I am already anticipating Shane’s story in Lassoed by the Would-be Rancher.

Between The Pages - Images

Images
Lauri Broadbent
April 2019

When Professor Michael Peterson learns he has a terminal brain tumor and is faced with no other viable options, he promises complete confidentially to undergo an experimental and highly secretive operation in brain cell grafting.

While recuperating, he begins to have flashes of fragmented images that have no connection to his life. He soon realizes he is an unwilling participant in a murder plan initiated by his donor.

Drawn into a maze of deceit and danger, Michael must choose between keeping his word to the person who saved his life or making an attempt to save the life of a complete stranger.

Between The Pages
This mainstream thriller grabs your attention from the first pages. The plot is a masterpiece of suspense. There is a large cast of characters and several POVs, but the author moves the read smoothly from character to character. The author also does a great job of having you liking the main characters and despising the villains. The twists and turns are filled with mystery and the story is gripping from beginning to end. This book is all about the action and anticipation of what will happen next as Michael puts together the pieces of the images he sees. Though this story is outside my main reading genre of romance, Images was equally entertaining and even included the hint of a possible romantic connection at the end. This book is a must read.

Between The Pages - Betrayed

Betrayed
Hebby Roman
September 2019

Mariel Mendoza wants to marry her beloved childhood sweetheart, Enrique Salazar. As the only child of a prosperous planter, her father is determined she marry a wealthy and respected businessman, Antonio Aguilar. She yearns to elope with Enrique, but he’s involved with the revolutionary movement against Spain.

Stricken by the suffering the revolution brings to her island home, Mariel betrays Antonio by stealing documents that will help the revolution while planning to run away with Enrique. Their plans are foiled by Antonio, and Mariel must face the wrath of her betrayed husband.

Mariel confronts the bleak future of an unwanted wife. She learns to run her husband’s plantation, nurses her father back to health, and saves his plantation from an unscrupulous overseer. With each accomplishment, she grows as a woman and realizes her heart lies with her estranged husband. Separated by betrayal and distrust, can they overcome their past and fashion a future together?

Between The Pages
I will admit, I was a bit hesitant to read this story due to the age difference between Mariel and Antonio, but I then saw that the story takes place in 1867 when arranged marriages between a younger woman and an older man was a common occurrence. I am very happy I gave this story a chance because it was well worth the read and I was sold on the beautiful cover. The author places the reader in the captivating historical settings with a skillful descriptive voice. The characters are neatly developed from the main characters to the secondary cast. Betrayal is the story’s theme, but there is a good mixture of suspense and action, which propels the plot forward and keeps you turning the pages. You’ll root for Mariel and Antonio while many obstacles are placed in their path. Will their unmistakable chemistry reunite them in the end? I recommend picking up a copy of this book to follow the emotional journey.

Her Cowboy Sheriff
Leigh Riker
January 2019

Will a lawman and a little girl…

Give her a reason to stay?

Annabelle Foster has big plans to leave Barren, Kansas, until an accident makes her guardian to a little girl. Annabelle has zero experience with children and turns to Finn Donovan for help. But while both Annabelle and Emmie start falling for the strong, guarded sheriff, Finn is haunted by his own tragedy. Can one little girl make them believe in their future…as a family?

Between The Pages
A sweet heartwarming romance. A solid plot with the main characters both having tragic pasts. Annabelle can’t wait to leave town after a troubling childhood, and Finn hasn’t recovered from a death in his family and determined to get revenge. The author crafted two well developed characters, which will have you wanting to know what happens next. The story includes two interesting mystery sub-plots. Will Annabelle find Emmie’s father? Will Finn get his revenge? These questions have you turning the pages to know the answers. The author draws you in with a punch of emotion. Her Cowboy Sheriff is book four in the Kansas Cowboys and I look forward to reading book five, The Rancher’s Second Chance, which is Cooper’s and Nell’s story who both appeared in Her Cowboy Sheriff.

Between The Pages - A Kiss is Just a Kiss

A Kiss is Just a Kiss
Melinda Curtis
April 2017

Kitty Summer has a wedding to stop. She's sure the groom doesn't love her sister, but how can she prove it? By testing his fidelity with one very public kiss, of course.

That one kiss leaves Kitty stranded in Florida without her purse or cell phone and with her dotty grandmother and one jilted groom, aka Beck O’Brien. With only her bridesmaid dress to her name, Kitty needs Beck to help her get Granny back to Atlanta. And Beck needs Kitty to help him locate his bride so he can win her back. But the closer they come to finding Maggie, the more Beck wonders if a kiss is just a kiss.

Between The Pages
A Kiss is Just a Kiss is book one of the Summer Bridesmaids series and when I heard the author is releasing book two later this year, I wanted to read this series from the ground floor. This story is so much fun on so many levels. The book starts with a prologue in Dorothy Summer’s POV talking about her five granddaughters. You are then taken to the present day with Dotty’s eldest granddaughter, Kitty. The plot starts out with a surprise kiss and continues with plenty mishap of events from that point forward. The main characters were fun to get to know, but my favourite was Dotty. Every scene she was in made me laugh or want to shed a tear. This is a sweet story that is perfect for a weekend read. I can’t wait to read more mishaps within the Summer family of sisters.

Between The Pages - An Alaskan Christmas

An Alaskan Christmas
Jennifer Snow
September 2019

In Alaska, it’s always a white Christmas—but the sparks flying between two reunited friends could turn it red-hot…

If there’s one gift Erika Sheraton does not want for Christmas, it’s a vacation. Ordered to take time off, the workaholic surgeon reluctantly trades in her scrubs for a ski suit and heads to Wild River, Alaska. Her friend Cassie owns a tour company that offers adventures to fit every visitor. But nothing compares to the adrenaline rush Erika feels on being reunited with Cassie’s brother, Reed Reynolds.

Gone is the buttoned-up girl Reed remembers. His sister’s best friend has blossomed into a strong, skilled, confident woman. She’s exactly what his search-and-rescue team needs—and everything he didn’t know he craved. The gulf between his life in Wild River and her big-city career is wide. But it’s no match for a desire powerful enough to melt two stubborn hearts…

Between The Pages
In the opening chapter, the heroine came across as a bit snooty and I wasn’t sure if I was going to enjoy this story, but as a fan of Jennifer’s Snow’s past books, I gave it a chance. I am happy I continued reading. Erika is obsessed with her job, but once she’s home in Wild River her character softens. The hero, Reed, is handsome, sexy, a member of the search and rescue team, and a bartender…what more could a romance reader ask for. The story heats up the pages with the main characters’ chemistry. Their connection is instant, but their forever has many obstacles. There are some great snowy mountain rescue scenes and a couple of plot twists with Erika’s relationship with her father as well as Reed’s missing father. There is also a good cast of secondary characters who could hold a story of their own, and I look forward to seeing who the author chooses to star in the next Wild River Novel series. The beautiful cover will draw you into this steamy romance with a wintry setting.
