Between The Pages - Memories of a Hunter’s Moon

Memories of a Hunter’s Moon
M. Flagg
June 2025

"Shall I keep humanity safe or let seven deadly sires loose on the world?" Not a typical choice for an arrogant vampire. Draven is brutally bloodied and humiliated by a powerful sire in another realm. Barely escaping through the portal, he is trapped in the ethical dilemma of treason or compliance. For a century, he has existed in the morally gray, keeping certain secrets. He has just assisted two notorious mystical warriors, and decades ago, he abandoned Luna, his immortal love, sending her into seclusion. While he suffers and heals, Luna is brought to him, which deepens his dilemma. As Draven considers his options, this vampire must place his trust in those whose mission is to destroy him. Their complex plan to trap the sires may result in Draven's final death. Can he pull it off? The crucial decision is his alone.

Between The Pages
Memories of a Hunter’s Moon by M. Flagg is book five in The Champion Chronicles and is a captivating continuation of a paranormal saga, rich with emotion, tension, and high-stakes drama. The story follows Draven, a vampire facing a dangerous plan that could lead to his final death. His reunion with Luna, the immortal love he once abandoned, adds a compelling layer to the narrative. Flagg’s storytelling is immersive, and her world-building is compelling. The cast of characters was well-developed and engaging. The plot pulls you in from start to finish. However, as a newcomer to the series, I found myself occasionally disconnected from key backstory elements and character relationships clearly built on events from previous books. I still thoroughly enjoyed the read and would recommend it to fans of paranormal fiction.

Between The Pages - The Passenger

The Passenger
Joie Lesin
August 2024

Burdened with her empathic gift, Elizabeth Reilly wants to be free of it and fit in with normal people. Nevertheless, when the spirit of an old man asks for her help, she travels across the country to help him return home.

Gio Clemente is still angry with his father who abandoned him as a child. To help the father pass on, Elizabeth must persuade Gio to let go of his anger. Though he resents her intrusion, they are both stunned to find themselves fighting a profound attraction. Elizabeth can accept his headstrong brand of love, but can Gio accept her gift—and believe in her?

Between The Pages
Joie Lesin’s The Passenger was a captivating blend of romance, suspense, and emotional depth, set against the backdrop of the 1940s. From the first page, the story pulls you in and refuses to let go. The chemistry between Elizabeth and Gio was magnetic. Their connection unfolded with tension and tenderness. Lesin’s writing is immersive and evocative, painting a picturesque vineyard landscape, a touch of the supernatural, and emotionally charged scenes with equal finesse. With engaging characters, a suspenseful plot, and a heartfelt message, The Passenger is a beautifully written novel that explores what it means to heal, to connect, and to believe in something greater than oneself. A recommended must-read.
