A well-written Victorian historical romance. The plot is appealing and the cast of characters are enjoyable. Jane is a strong and determined woman, and her journey to find her independence is interesting. Jane and Matthew have obstacles to climb, which adds a compelling twist to the story. The smooth pace makes it easy for the reader to slip into the historical setting.
